Yes, its true, but what you are never told is that at the? same time the other 90% of Antarctica has cooled (since 1960) The ice pack has also been steadily growing since measurements began in 1980. Overall Antarctica's grounded ice has gained at least 5,000km3 of ice since 1960.
By: debrainwasher1. on 20 May 13, 02:33:03
Yes heard that one? but isn't it true that the antarctic peninsula has melted significantly?
By: 1000frolly. on 20 May 13, 00:46:19
And the Antarctic has been cooling steadily for at least 50 years, and its ice cap is growing, and the sea ice extents are hitting records each year (last year was another record). Go figure.?
By: debrainwasher1. on 19 May 13, 14:43:04
80% of the ice volume in the? Arctic has melted since 1970. Go figure.
By: johndaddyo444. on 18 May 13, 12:23:46
So let's look at the full satellite data record: 1979 AMGTA = -0.17 C (+13.83 C baseline), maCO2a = 0 ppmv (337? ppmv baseline) 1990 AMGTA = -0.02 C, maCO2a = +17 ppmv 2001 AMGTA = +0.11 C, maCO2a = +34 ppmv 2012 AMGTA = +0.16 C, maCO2a = +57 ppmv 1st 11 yrs = +0.15 C/+17ppmv 2nd 11 yrs = +0.13 C/+17ppmv 3rd 11 yrs = +0.05 C/+23ppmv Conclusion? +1 ppmv CO2 causes different warming as baseline level increases. Explanation: There's a CO2 saturation level at which no further warming occurs.
By: 1000frolly. on 18 May 13, 12:14:40
That is very true, and this example shows the real extent of? the so-called 'science' that is behind the man-made climate change thought-bubble.
By: johndaddyo444. on 18 May 13, 12:00:38
Let's suppose satellite data began in 1998 instead of 1978. What would climate scientists be forced to conclude? 1998 annual mean global temp anomaly = 0.00 C (hypothetical baseline) 2005? AMGTA = -0.18 C 2012 AMGTA = -0.26 C 1998 mean atmospheric CO2 anomaly = 0 ppmv (Mauna Loa Scripps Obs.) 2005 maCO2a = +13 ppmv 2012 maCO2a = +28 ppmv Conclusion? +1 ppmv CO2 causes -0.01 C of Cooling. Would you trust this method? No? This is how AGW is "confirmed", except satellite data starts in 1978!
